Le Petit Chateau

Le Petit Chateau is situated in an ideal location for many all year round activities and pastimes. We are happy to help you plan and organise your event or activity in advance of your visit to the Gers.

Golf
With 6 challenging courses in the surrounding area, a day’s, long weekend’s or full week’s tournaments can be arranged to include lunch and a cooling beer at the 19th hole.

Cookery
We can host cookery courses or demonstrations for groups of up to 10. Take in a local farmers market, purchase your ingredients, prepare and sample your efforts under the watchful eye of your ‘Chef’.

Painting
A painting holiday could not be better located, with wonderful rolling countryside, picturesque villages, spectacular landscapes and the Pyrenees Mountains, a perfect backdrop for any canvas.

Armagnac and Wine Tasting
Over the region you will see vine covered slopes for Armagnac (brandy), Floc (a local aperitif), Cotes de Gascogne, Cotes de Saint Mont and Madiran wines. The local domains welcome visitors to sample the local ‘tipple’.

Airbus
Nearby Toulouse is the site where the new Airbus A380 giants are assembled. A tour of the plant with an option to include Concorde is possible, but must be booked in advance to ensure security clearance. We also recommend a visit to Space Centre to round off the day.

Winter Sports
With the ski stations as little as an hour away, it is possible to take in a day’s skiing, snowboarding, or a mountain husky tour, but if that’s all sounds too energetic, then you can always watch while you partake of a long lunch and the après ski.

Music Festivals
Apart from the Jazz festival in August, Marciac hosts music weekends all year round. During the summer months nearby towns offer festivals featuring country, salsa, classical, local folklore and many others.

If you are celebrating a family event, special birthday, anniversary or even a small wedding, Le Petit Chateau offers a charming and tranquil setting, either on our large sun terrace or in the elegant grand salon. Every attention will be given to ensure a truly memorable occasion for you and your guests.

Other activities
The area is a favourite location for cyclists and walkers (not forgetting those following one of the St Jacques de Compostela pilgrimage routes), rugby enthusiasts and even bull fighting. The local markets, antique brocantes or a trip to Toulouse to the exclusive boutiques in the rambling old lanes, is a shoppers dream. Other sports and activities to be enjoyed in the area include natural health spas, horse riding, fishing, rafting and canoeing, quad biking and flying. There is horse racing and motor racing at top grade tracks less than 1 hour away. Day trip visits to Northern Spain and more locally the historic cities of Toulouse, Auch and Lourdes offer more cultural pursuits.
