The Grounds

The Park

The Chateau is set in 9 acres of private, largely wooded grounds. Some of the trees are 200 to 300 years old. Magnificent cedars, that have always marked a house of importance, oak and fir trees, walnut, fig and other fruit baring trees can be found dotted around the estate along with wild growing mushrooms during September. There is the chance to spot a range of wide life, deer, red squirrels, and an amazing variety of bird species.

The Pool

The newly installed large pool is located close to the chateau and is naturally heated by the sun to a pleasant 25 to 28 degrees in summer. The pool is surrounded by a sandstone shingle terrace and trees that provide natural shade at certain times of the day. Sun beds, beach towels, and umbrellas are provided. The summer house will eventually house a changing area, toilet, shower and summer kitchen. At night the pool is covered.

The Terrace

To the side of the chateau is the large sun terrace with magnificent views over the chateau grounds, the immediate countryside and the Pyrenees beyond. Weather permitting, breakfast is usually served here as would be evening cocktails, light lunches, table d’hotes dinners, and barbeques. The terrace also doubles for hosting al fresco private parties, receptions and gatherings under shaded canopies.
