The Rooms

Reception

Entering the Chateau by the original double doors, mirrored at the far end of the hall, the traditionally designed tiled floor extends out in front of you. Brass chandeliers sit at the bottom of the grand staircase in French Oak that features a stained glass window dating from 1898.

The fusion of traditional French colours, soft duck egg blues, pale eau de nils and accents of antique gold, enhanced by an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary furniture, dressed in rich sumptuous fabrics, create an elegant and individual style to each room.

Grand Salon

French windows open on to a terrace that extends the full length of the chateau. The room centres around the magnificent carved oak fireplace and imposing gilt and crystal chandelier. Subtle shades of eau de nil and green silk furnishings with marble antiquities adorn this room.

Sun filled, airy and cool during the hot summer months, the grand salon transforms into a cosy refuge with warming log fires in winter. An ideal rendezvous for afternoon tea or pre dinner drinks. During the cold months the room offers a larger alternative dining area for celebrations.

Bureau, Library and Television Lounge

Immediately off the grand salon, the petit salon offers a recreational lounge, you can watch T.V., with English and French speaking channels, or spend some quality time playing games with the family. There is internet access should you require it.

The Bureau is an ideal private corner of the house for reading or simply just relaxing, and we invite you to borrow books and DVDs from our library. This secluded room is dominated by a sculpted marble fireplace, and has French windows opening onto the terrace.

Dining Room

The dining room is entered by double doors from the main hall. Pale chalk walls are complimented by the silk drapes with a china blue jacquard design, a Russian style chandelier, black marble fireplace, hand carved mirror and display cabinets.

We can host up to twenty in the dining room, or set the room for a more intimate dinner. The room also offers an alternative to alfresco dining should the weather so determine. French windows open on to a small terrace at the rear of the house.

Chambre Vionnet

The King sized bed with fabric covered head and foot board in chantilly cream with powder blue brocade décor, and the chateau style furniture have hand carved mouldings. The views from this room are quite spectacular, over the immediate grounds and stretching to the distant Pyrenees.

This romantic bathroom with black and grey damasque motif tiles and the contrasting white porcelain and gleaming chrome fittings exude pure luxury. The roll top bath, separate walk in shower and huge sink offer every modern facility and comfort.

Chambre Lanvin

Traditional printed wall coverings and furnishings in pale duck egg blue, surround the king sized bed, with its rattan and hand carved floral head and foot board to match the mirror fronted armoire. The original oak parquet flooring is laid in a herring bone design and has to be seen.

The distinctive décor of this luxury en suite, in pure white and metallised grey was created by hand cutting the tiles for a large walk in shower area, featuring a marble seat and arc shower, a double sink with chrome fittings, a heated towel rail and natural wood accessories.

Chambre Gaultier

Two oversized four poster beds, dressed in crisp white cotton, dominate this contemporary styled room in neutral shades with colonial influenced furniture in natural wood tones. This north facing room has views of the immediate grounds and fields beyond.

The bathroom features a step up, step in bath with shower, a large sink on wooden stand with shelves and heated towel rail. The white mosaic tiled walls are in stark contrast to the dark grey Italian flint tiles of the bath surround and steps.

Chambre Jourdan

The mix of damasque and silk fabrics in subtle shades of green was the inspiration for the lavish décor of this room. The bed has a silk head board with carved gilt frame and has been dressed with a damasque cover. The same fabric covers a chest of drawers and makes for a unique style.

Simplicity is the essence of this bathroom with wood panelling in contrasted colours of dove grey and white, mixed with a traditional roll top bath, ‘retro’ sink on chrome stand, chrome fittings and dressed with natural wood accessories.
